Nina’s Will throws up some interesting questions relating to the ownership of The Rhodrons, why Leslie and not Percy benefited from her estate and the Everdon connection which comes up again, coincidentally this time, I think.

I have discovered that the farm which my wife's 3x great grandfather, Paige Shire, farmed from 1815 to 1857 may have previously been farmed by her 5x great grandfather John Shire even before 1764 and may still be in the family !

I was trawling through the internet as you do and copied this article (http://samilitaryhistory.org/3/d03mayne.html) about a striking and most unusual talk by Professor Philip Everitt entitled Bagged but Cheerful: A POW at Tobruk. Little did I know at the time that the British POW being given the military funeral was Hugh 'Pop' Benson.

Hugh Benson was in this POW camp up until his death on 12th July 1944. Stalag 4B was in Mulhberg, Germany south of Berlin, north east of Leipzig and north west of Dresden.
