 | William John MUSGROVE (1860 to 1901) William MUSGROVE was my great grandfather on my birth family side of the tree. He lead a hard life, working on the newly expanding railway, living in slum conditions with his large family. This is my research into his life and the times he lived in. |
 | Booth Survey - the dwellings A number of relatives, whose stories are included on this website, have addresses within the boundary where Charles Booth carried out his surveys between 1886 and 1903. The following include a few transcripts I have taken from his online notebooks www.booth.lse.ac.uk). |
 | Charles Booth Survey Between 1886 and 1903 Charles Booth carried out a detailed survey of life and labour in London. The notes he made provide a fascinating insight into the streets of our capital city. |
 | Hannah Elizabeth Wild (1866 - 1959) Hannah brought up her large young family single handed in the slums of Kensington after the death of her husband. She died aged 92, apparently, with her veins full of whisky ! |
 | Southam Street Area Southam Street, presumably including number 27, was demolished in 1969 to make way for the Westway flyover (M4) & the Trellick Tower. |
 | The early MUSGROVE's I can trace this line back to Mary MUSGROVE whose son John MUSGROVE was “base born” in 1805 Brompton Regis (now Kings Brompton), Somerset. John was a shoemaker and a cordwainer. |
 | The Musgrove branch line
The Musgrove's are my birth mothers paternal family. Read about William and Hannah and their children. |
