Jane was born in Sophia Street, Seaham Harbour, Durham on 23rd February 1889.  The informant of her birth, her mother, was resident at 15 Dulka Road, Clapham Common in London.  She was living there with her parents and brother on the 1891 census.  The family moved to 15 Old Park Avenue, Battersea before the 1901 census and were still there in 1911.

It is believed she was referred to as "Miss Jennie Hill" at the 1932 funeral of her father, the well known journalist, in an article in The Times which says : "Owing to her prolonged illness and age, Mrs Hill (widow) was unable to be present, and the family were represented by Mr William Hill (son) and Miss Jennie Hill (daughter)".

As far as we know, Jane never married.  It is believed she died in Hendon in 1952 and I am awaiting a copy of her death certificate. 

NB She is NOT the 71 year old Jane Hill who died 29th September 1961 in Chelsea.
